• Clowns

I took an interest in clown motifs during quarantine at a time when I was burnt out creatively. I happened across a small porcelain preriot doll at a thrift store and began drawing her. She had a smug side eye and fluffy hair that was fun to capture, and I soon found myself drawing clowns whenever I had a spare pen and paper. I soon started using clowns as a way to explore themes of identity and emotion.

  • Patches

Patches is a character I created to explore themes of mortality and innocence. He is a sentient pumpkin who woke up one day alone in a patch. He often finds himself getting into trouble, as he’s had to learn everything by himself and doesn’t always comprehend the trouble he gets into. I look forward to capturing more of his misadventures through print in the future.

  • Other Explorations

I enjoy exploring a variety of printmaking techniques and subjects, from monoprint self-portraits to typographical photolithography. I challenge myself to explore every medium I can while I have the opportunity to do so. The concepts vary as much as the mediums too.
